1st Galloping Goose 1/2 Pilgrimage – Sunday April 10, 2016

Looking to the past we are reminded of where we came from and how far we have come and at the same time as a possible pointer to where we are going. During this pilgrimage we stepped away from our previous silent pilgrimages to walk and the chance to get to know each other a little deeper. Together we trekked 18km along the beautiful Galloping Goose Trail from Luxton in Langford to the home of our former temple in Sooke, Kokizan-ji (Red Flag Mountain Temple). Pilgrimage – extended walking practice – is recognized in most spiritual traditions as a form of moving meditation, and is a physical manifestation of the spiritual path itself. We may travel together with good company, yet each of us has to make the walk ourselves.

Perhaps, if someone would like to step up, organize volunteers and make arrangements for another pilgrimage we will once again walk as like minded companions on the Way.
